 Welcome!

Hello! My name is Danielle Stephenson, and welcome to Mrs. Danielle's Home Daycare!

I earned my diploma in Early Childhood Development from Hennepin Technical College in 2003. Since then, I have dedicated my career to working with young children. Over the years, I've had the opportunity to work in both large and small child care centers, teaching children in mixed-age classrooms as well as age-specific classrooms. Each experience has helped shape the program I offer today.

In 2014, my husband and I welcomed our second child, and I decided to open Mrs. Danielle's Home Daycare. My goal was simple: to be home with my children while creating a safe, loving, and educational environment where other children could learn and grow alongside them. More than a decade later, I still love what I do and feel incredibly grateful to be part of so many families' lives.

My program is based on the Redleaf Family Child Care Curriculum: Teaching Through Quality Care, while also allowing the flexibility to follow each child's interests. I believe children learn best through play, exploration, and hands-on experiences. I create lesson plans and activities that are developmentally appropriate and designed around the children's emerging interests. This approach encourages curiosity, confidence, creativity, and a lifelong love of learning.

I am proud to participate in Parent Aware, Minnesota's Quality Rating and Improvement System. Being a Parent Aware provider reflects my commitment to continuous learning, professional development, and providing a high-quality early childhood experience. Through Parent Aware, I continue to expand my knowledge and strengthen my program so I can provide children with the best possible start in life.

Each day is filled with opportunities to learn, explore, and have fun. Children enjoy nutritious meals and snacks, outdoor play, art experiences, sensory activities, dramatic play, music and movement, and activities that strengthen both fine and gross motor skills. Throughout the day, we also work on early learning concepts such as colors, shapes, letters, letter sounds, numbers, problem-solving, early literacy, and social-emotional development. Every activity has a purpose and is thoughtfully planned to help children build the skills they need for future success.

Preparing children for kindergarten is one of my greatest passions. I work hard to create meaningful learning experiences that help children develop academically, socially, emotionally, and physically. My goal is for every child to leave my program feeling confident, independent, curious, and ready for the next step in their educational journey.

Above all, I strive to create a home away from home where children feel safe, loved, respected, and excited to learn. Every child learns at their own pace, and I believe in meeting them where they are while encouraging them to grow through play, exploration, and positive relationships. Watching children gain confidence, discover new skills, and become ready for kindergarten is one of the greatest rewards of being an early childhood educator.

Thank you for taking the time to learn a little about me and Mrs. Danielle's Home Daycare. I look forward to getting to know your family and being part of your child's early learning journey!

P.S.

Mrs. Danielle's Home Daycare is a cat-friendly home. If your child has cat allergies or concerns about pets, please let me know so we can discuss whether my program is the right fit for your family.

Sincerely,

Danielle Stephenson
